Biography
James "Jim"
Krause's Law Practice is primarily in the field of Contract Law, with
over 35 years in the construction industry, ranging from general contractor to
architecture to construction law. As a former general contractor and designer,
he has a thorough background knowledge of many areas of construction disputes
from years of field experience.
Jim also spent 4 years in Washington D.C. as
the Senior Director of the Federal & Heavy Construction Division at the
AGC, where he was the primary liaison to the Federal construction agencies such
as the Corps of Engineers, the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, the
Veterans Administration, and the General Services Administration. While Jim
represents Federal contractors in all of the courts in Washington D.C., he has
maintained an office in Jacksonville for ten years where he assists Contractors
with Federal Contact issues including: Bid Protests, Claims, Small Business
matters, Federal set-asides, and Joint Venture/Teaming Arrangements. Jim hosts
a monthly Federal Contractors' Forum where contractors and contracting officers
can meet in a neutral setting to discuss current events.

Jim Krause has been an aggressive advocate on contract issues for federal
contractors. He has testified before the FAR Council in support of federal
contractors and provided numerous lectures and seminars on contractor's issues
to such groups as the Defense Acquisitions University, the Industrial College
of the Armed Forces, the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, and most other
federal contracting and construction agencies. He has also written numerous
articles and books on federal topics, including contracts, design build, best
value source selection, and contractor performance evaluations.
